Position Overview
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations during their assigned shift and ensuring everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our standards. This role leads by example, supports team members, and helps create a welcoming, high-quality environment for both customers and staff.
Shift Supervisors work closely with ownership and management to maintain operational excellence, develop team members, and ensure every guest receives exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and support team members throughout the shift
- Set the tone for professionalism, positivity, and teamwork
- Provide coaching, guidance, and ongoing support to help team members grow
- Hold team members accountable to standards while fostering a respectful, encouraging environment
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional, personalized customer service
- Create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest
- Resolve customer concerns calmly, professionally, and with empathy
- Lead by example in hospitality, friendliness, and attention to detail
Operations Management
- Oversee opening and closing procedures
- Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
- Follow and uphold all shop policies, procedures, and standards
- Handle cash responsibly and maintain accuracy and accountability
Product Quality & Presentation
- Maintain high standards for drink and product quality
- Ensure products are prepared consistently and presented well
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and visually appealing
Training & Development
- Assist with training new team members
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Help build a positive, supportive team culture
Inventory & Shop Maintenance
- Monitor product levels and assist with restocking as needed
- Help maintain organization and readiness for daily operations
- Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met
Communication
- Communicate clearly with management and team members
- Provide updates on shift performance, challenges, and wins
- Help ensure smooth transitions between shifts
What We’re Looking For
- Leadership experience in coffee, food service, retail, or hospitality preferred
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and team-first mindset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
